    WELCOME TO MR. SCHOOLER'S CLASS

During these uncertain times my hope is that Glassell Park STEAM Magnet (GP) can be there for your family by adding some stability and comfort. I hope that this year I can be a part of helping your kids learn and add structure to their days. I want you to know that when a student enters my class and becomes my student, I say to them, "You have now been born into my classroom. This means that I care about you not matter what. I don't have to wait to see if I will like you or care. Just as when you were born to your parents. They didn't have to wait to see how you were. They loved you from the beginning. I don't have to wait either. You are my student. It's automatic."

    WHO IS MR. SCHOOLER?

I teach because I believe that all kids no matter who they are or where they come from deserve to have someone who believes in them and their capability to learn. I particularly care about Glassell Park because I used to live in the neighborhood and have taught in the area for many years. Before I taught at Glassell Park Elementary, I taught at Irving Middle School. I graduated from Occidental College and have my masters from California State University of Los Angeles. In my spare time I enjoy fishing, gardening, cooking, road trips, and spending time with family.

    CONTACT ME

I like to keep in touch with the families of my students. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me. Texting works best, but if you want to talk just call my number or you can email me. See the top of this page for my email address and phone number.

HOW CAN I FIND OUT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN MY CLASS OR MY CHILD'S CLASS?

Schoology is where all the information about my classroom is located. Both students and parents are able to log in to Schoology to look at what is happening in the class–and also to see the grades. I work very hard to keep the grades as up to date as I can.

WHAT SHOULD WE BE WORKING ON AT HOME?

We have some ongoing assignments that you always need to keep up with:

    • Your reading! Get that READO (FICTION) completed in your reading notebook.
    • Your writing! Are you caught up with your writing assignments?
    • Do you know your math facts? Practice by going into the math room in Schoology.
